Get over it.

Here's a rundown of what's happened recently:
-I hit level 25. Did the portal quests and now I can port to Antonica, Commonlands, Greater Faydark, Butcherblock Mountains, and Steamfont. Beats the heck out of running/horseback!!!
-Chose a my single-target HoT as my level 24 Master II. Why? Well, according to my guild leader I am "a healer" (and she gave me an adept 3 of my nuke :P )
-I am now a level 26 Tailor. Thinking about wearing cloth because of the INT/WIS/resists bonuses. I would be really squishy though. Robes are decent at level 20.
By the way, there are a LOT of recipes and I haven't even run out yet. It's great!
-Thinking about rolling a brawler (monk or bruiser) because I can give him some great leather armor... *slaps self* snap out of it!!!
-I'm planning on hitting level 30 Tailor then grinding up to 30 in groups/duoing/etc.
-Transmuting's been put on the shelf because there's nothing to transmute. Wait, couldn't I start an alt and put them on the noob island so they get level 1 treasured gear? Hmm.....
-I love my guild. Some of the most friendly people I've met in EQ. Echoes of Eternity FTW!

Until next time....

Finallly...

Okay, a lot has happened in the past few days. I'll try to cover it all.

I have a total of 12 achivement points now. Been putting them in the far-right column of the Fury tree so I can get Energy Vortex (boosts spell damage by 50% and cuts healing by 50% for a short time).

Still working on Lore & Legend quests. Currently working on Kobold, Treant, and Werewolf. Not only do these things give you a master strike that deals extra damage to monsters you've completed a Lore and Legends quest for, they also give great achivement point experience!

Grouped with my Dad in Stormhold yesterday. I learned the absolute beauty of having evac which if you didn't know, it zones you to the nearest safe spot (great if your group's going to wipe.) More experience healing in an instance. I ususally use my WIS/AGI debuff so that his attacks hit more (less AGI=hits land more). Went out of power a bunch. I was able to select a power regen trait for lvl 22 so that should help, but I need to keep an eye on that...

Last night, I joined a group in Wailing caves that was cool and yet very interesting because we had three healers including myself- a defiler , a templar, and a fury(me). We really needed a tank so I went and logged in with my paladin and we actually got to Lord Ree (the main boss of the instance) but we wiped at the very end. Sad, but it was quite a rush. Sometimes the old habit of playing a tank creeps up on me and I can't control it, usually ending in my demise. Maybe my next adventure will be with a tank lvl1-70. But that's way in the future if it even happens.

Dinged 23 this morning!! I got Strike of Thunder which does something like 233-388 damage to a single target. I'm going to pick it as my master II choice at lvl24. It's AWESOME! Certainly easier to kill stuff. Can't wait until lvl32 when I get my AoE (area of effect) damage spell. Then things will die even faster. I'm starting to see my time invested paying off with this new spell. Didn't have much time to try it out, but from what I've seen it's great!

Onward and upward!

Okay! Dinged 19 last night. A whopping 9 achievement points. Doing pretty good. Can't wait until level 23 when I get Strike of Thunder, my first DD spell.

I got shafted on a character respec. I thought that you could take ALL of the points out of each tree and put them into one but as soon as you spend an achievement point it's restricted to that tree when you put it back in after a respec. Big waste of 10 gold. Oh well, live and learn.

My super-helpful Guild leader (Reecez of Echoes of Eternity) helped me with "In Honor and Service," the first available Heritage quest, where I got a nifty piece of chain chest armor that I turned into a house item because I can't wear anything above leather :( But then again, a fury with a chain plate would look stupid. So I defer to SOE's wisdom on this one.

I've been working on a lot of Lore and Legend quests- they are great for earning achievement points, as are collection quests. Still can't bring myself to start crafting yet- that will be next week I guess.

Tomorrow my Dad and I are going to group so I can (hopefully) level to 23. Stormhold, here we come! It should be a blast. I intend to use that experience to learn more about group healing, even though it will probably be only him and I.

There must be something funny in the water...

Still at lvl16, and questing for my 5th AA while getting my gathering skill up for harvesting in Antonica. I picked a tailor based on my racial bonus. Did I mention that in a previous post? Probably. Sorry, I'm very ADHD.

I also picked Transmuting for my secondary tradeskill, which at the moment seems like a huge waste of time/money until I get to be a higher level. For some reason I haven't figured out what I can and can't transmute, so I just click the transmute hotkey and hover over my items in my bags to see if the arrow lights up blue over anything. Have to do some more research on that..

So yeah, about the title... I was doing one of those Far-Seas Trade Requisition quests and I had to kill some pond beavers, which, after doing some investigation, are at the pond in Archer's wood in Antonica. So it was business as usual, wis/agi debuff, root, DoT, elemental Dot, auto attack, rinse and repeat. Killed a few that way and then ran into a super retarded beaver that seemed to run away from me but got stuck on something and then circled around behind me and eventually attacked me. It was so funny, because no mob acts like that- you attack them and then they take the shortest route between you and them and attack you. I think glitches like that are great as a suprise humor aspect of EQ2, as long as they don't interfere with quests.

As far as my Achievement trees, I've put 3 points into the INT tree so far, going for spell crits because I will be doing a lot of soloing/duoing. Next I'll probably do the STA tree for heal crits. Who knows, considering in GU#36 they will be changing Fury AAs.

Until next time....

3 hours of gameplay+4 group wipes=fun!

Did a bit of group healing last night. Spent some time in the Caves, Tomb of Varsoon, and Blackburrow. I learned a lot about healing, namely when to use a HoT (heal over time) and when to spam everything (actually that's common sense). Felt great to keep a group alive by myself, even though the group only had 2 others in it.

We got owned by Slaverjaw in the caves. He popped up right behind two of us after our swash went LD (linkdead) and killed us in 2 or 3 hits. Ouch. Couldn't find a way into tomb of Varsoon even though the map shows that there's an instance in there somewhere.

I learned the great potential of my Brambles spell in Blackburrow. We were fighting that Angler named gnoll and eight adds come running in and beating on me because I was standing back healing (duh!) so I hit my Brambles spell and backed the heck up and our swash stole the aggro back. SWEET! It's a great spell to get rid of aggro when you steal it by healing too much or just by being an idiot in the wrong place at the wrong time /raises hand.

Learning a lot about playing a healer. Exciting stuff. Have problems going OOP (out of power) though. Gotta get some better drink! Can't wait til I get a manastone or something to help out (or just group with someone with a power regen buff).

By the end of the week I'm going to try to hit 25 to get the ports for Antonica, GFay, and Commonlands so I can be my own travel agent. Plus that DD spell at 23... it's going to be great.

4 AAs (achievement points) so far. Not worrying too much about them. I am burned out on questing a bit. Gotta get over that.

I won't be playing tonight. Going to catch up on some sleep :P

Until next time....

Level 15!

I started my Fury 2 days ago, and so far, I am level 15. Some interesting thoughts/experiences:

1. Man, I can't WAIT until I get a DD (direct damage) spell! I have absolute crap as far as damage goes! [I think the first really good one is at lvl 23]
2. For some reason, my resists are really decent- I have at least 110 in every area. I'm not sure if that's because I'm a human, but I think it has to do with my WIS stats.
3. Leather armor doesn't look as bad as I thought it would! I mean honestly, doesn't everyone prefer a good-looking character? Thank God I'm not wearing one of those bathrobes...er.. I mean mage robes!
4. I have a LOT of heals- enough to solo heal a group! That excites me, considering I plan on spending a lot of time in Stormhold in a few levels.
5. Some random lvl70 Warlock mentored me in the Caves last night, and he hooked me up! I picked up the Alabaster Basher and Slaverjaw's Tooth among other sweet items. I will be doing the same for others once I hit lvl70 and raid all of the zones. That's one of the things about EQ2 I love- so many helpful players that are actually mature! :D
6. Bristleskin ROCKS! I love the fact that anyone that hits me takes damage! I have found myself many times killing one monster in a group and finding the others down to yellow or orange because they have been hitting me the whole time.
7. You can actually solo with a priest, and do pretty good at it! HoTs (Heal over Time) are great "set it and forget it" heals. Low maintenance FTW!
8. I deal double damage to elementals on some spells, but I have yet to find ANY except a few behemoths in the Caves. Hope there's a lot more elementals elsewhere, otherwise there's useless effects on two of my spells right now. XD
9. I am having to play on my living room TV right now because my monitor is fried! It's okay, except for some of the text is too small and I have to squint. Having a super vga port on your video card is a lifesaver!

Can't think of a #10. Many people consider this class to be the most overplayed, overpopular, and overpowered healer in the game.
